摘要

This paper is concerned with applying control theory to a problem of water quality in a river. The problem concerns improvements in the dissolved-oxygen balance and chlorides balanced by treating the effluent from particular sources and by flow regulation by means of multipurpose reservoirs. Numerical solutions for the optimal control of water quality have already been shown and applied in research on a water management system [17]. In this paper some theoretical results on control in coefficients are presented. They consist in determining the appropriate functional spaces of control variables and necessary conditions for control-problem solution.
