A practical model for multidisciplinary analysis data and algorithm abstraction

A discussion of current concepts and methodologies is presented for systems designed for multidisciplinary analysis (MDA) applications. A prototype system is presented which forms a foundation for a MDA system by integrating the fundamental components of grid generation, field visualization, and field solution into a tightly integrated network distributed system. As a result of this early design, a new model is proposed which simplifies the programming paradigm with a model based on data and algorithm encapsulation. The new model distributes the application on a heterogeneous network based on domain decomposition, with each domain potentiall a different physical media.
