摘要

Convergence history and its dependence on the direction of discretization are investigated when a boundary value problem is given in a curvilinear domain and the finite differences procedure is used. An attempt is made to determine the best relaxation direction when a near-optimal relaxation parameter is employed. Results emphasize the critical role of the grid aspect ratio.
