A mixed-hybrid finite element method for convection–diffusion problems

摘要

A mixed-hybrid finite element method for scalar diffusion–convection problems is presented. In this method, the lowest degree Raviart–Thomas finite element is used for the diffusive term. The convective term is treated by means of a Lagrange multiplier which is introduced in the hybrid form. The numerical results show that this method produces very accurate solutions for high Peclet numbers.
