摘要

Multicriteria decision making (MCDM) techniques are applied to optimizing simultaneously the performance characteristics of the machining of 390 die-cast aluminum alloy. The formulation of the machining problem from a MCDM perspective enables simultaneous analysis of several conflicting aspects of this problem. The optimized criteria are surface roughness, tool life, metal removal rate, and surface integrity. The raw scores on these criteria are then transformed into values, which are assessed by two different techniques (equal value differences and relative slopes) that are found to give consistent results. The calculation of the nondominated solution set and application of three MCDM techniques (weighting technique, Zionts-Wallenius, and compromise programming) results in the determination of “satisficing” solutions for the selection problem for machining parameters.
