Nomic AI is the world's first information mapping company. Information mapping is the study and practice of making and using data maps. Nomic AI’s first product, Atlas, enables anyone to visualize, organize, interact and search large-scale data sets in their browser. Atlas is currently in closed beta.

Since 25,000 BC, people have relied on maps to navigate. Early maps focused on physical geography, describing the shapes of continents, the tides of oceans, and the heights of mountains. These maps are indispensable tools for explorers brave enough to venture to the edge of the known world.

Today, our world is undergoing a huge transformation due to the rise of artificial intelligence. Modern AI models are trained on internet-scale data sets, enabling content production at an unprecedented scale. They are rapidly penetrating every industry around the world, from defense, medicine, finance to the arts.

Despite their rapid rise, we still know very little about these models. What is their training data? What did they learn? How do we compare them? How do people use them? We currently lack the tools needed to answer these questions. We are like ships sailing on the edge of the known world without a map.

Nomic aims to use information mapping methods to solve these problems. Our first product, Atlas, enables anyone to visualize, organize, interact and search large-scale data sets in their browser. We hope to help promote a safer and responsible emergence of artificial intelligence by enabling users to seamlessly explore and interact with their data.
