Interfacing criteria for recognition logic used with a context post-processor

This note reports on a study to determine which character substitution errors are the most serious in the sense of being difficult to detect and correct with a context post processor. The input is English text and a context post processor using positional trigrams is employed to detect and possibly repair errors. The results should be useful in the design of recognition logic to be used with post processors.
