Singular perturbation techniques in the study of a dynamical system arising from the kinetic theory of atoms and photons

摘要

The kinetic equations for interacting atoms and photons are considered in the space homogeneous case. Under suitable assumptions on the relaxation times of the various interaction processes, a singularly perturbed dynamical system is derived for physically meaningful moments of the distribution functions. The problem is solved analytically by means of composite asymptotic expansion algorithms. The obtained first-order approximated results are discussed in a pertinent numerical example.
