摘要

The Taylor–Galerkin finite element model (TGFEM) is second-order accurate in time. However, it provides oscillatory results for advection dominated transport. The objective of this paper is to develop criteria for the TGFEM to provide oscillation-free accurate results. The accuracy of the TGFEM was evaluated by comparing its prediction with the corresponding analytical solution. The model was found to provide oscillation-free accurate results for Peclet number, Pe, as high as 20 and Courant number Cr⩽0.10.
