Inverse problem for the acoustic wave equation: a probabilistic approach to approximations and uniqueness

By using path integral representation of the Laplace transform of the solutions of the acoustic wave equation in a heterogeneous medium, we examine questions related to the inverse problem consisting of finding the velocity of propagation of sound in a domain, starting from measurements of the wave field on the surface of the domain.
