Magnetohydrodynamic unsteady free convection flow of a couple stress fluid with one relaxation time through a porous medium

摘要

The method of the matric exponential, which constitutes the basis of the state space approach of modern control theory, is applied to the non-dimensional equations of a magnetohydrodynamic unsteady free convection flow of a couple stress fluid through a porous medium with one relaxation time. The resulting formulation together with Laplace transform technique is applied to a thermal shock problem. Also a problem with distribution of heat sources is considered. Numerical results for the velocity, induced magnetic field, angular velocity and temperature distributions are given and illustrated graphically for each problem.
