Surfaces at a constant distance from the edge of regression on a surface

Let M be a surface in E3. We define surface Mf at a constant distance from the edge of regression on a surface M and investigate some properties of Mf. The correspondence of some theorems and properties which hold for parallel surfaces, which are a special case of Mf, are obtained for Mf.
