摘要

Multidomain decomposition techniques are fast becoming recognized as the major numerical approach for improving the performance of the boundary element method (BEM). Adopting this procedure, the problem domain is divided into cells or computational units and on each subdomain, the governing equation is solved together with some additional equations that guarantee continuity at the boundaries of adjacent domains. With the same spirit, the equations which describe Stokes flows are solved with the Green element method (GEM). The GEM formulation in addition to its unique hybrid numerical features, facilitates the specification of the boundary conditions that arise from the vorticity equation. The accuracy of the GEM solutions are ascertained by solving some examples and studying the results.
