A composite fourth-order iterative method for solving non-linear equations

摘要

In this paper, we present a new iterative method with order of convergence four for solving non-linear equations. Per iteration the new method requires two evaluations of the function and one evaluation of its first derivative. Analysis of efficiency, in term of function evaluations, shows that the new method is superior. Its practical utility is demonstrated by numerical examples.
