摘要

A general equilibrium analysis of health consumption externalities is solved numerically using Scarf's algorithm. In the example explored consumers or patients are worse off with market internalization which shifts the physicians work-leisure decisions toward leisure. The full wealth effects are determined and indicate how more specific analyses of welfare issues can be performed using the techniques employed. The relevance for research on National Health Insurance is indicated.
