The determination of periodicity in physical problems from series-solution representations

The theoretical description of physical systems frequently results in series representation for the solutions. If the series is not summable in terms of tabulated functions whose properties are known, the determination of any periodicity can be difficult. This paper discusses the recognition of periodicity in MacLaurin-type series representations. A calculation procedure is demonstrated for those cases where periodic characteristics do exist.
