• In comparison with many existing works, the linear growth condition is relaxed to the homogeneous one and the growth rate is unknown.

• In order to deal with the unknown growth rate, two dynamic gains are introduced.

• Together with two dynamic gains and a decaying function, a dynamic event-triggering mechanism is proposed.

• With the aid of adding a power integrator technique, an event-triggered output feedback controller is designed to achieve desired performance.
