• The unified transformation method is used to solve the initial-boundary value problem of the three-coupled Hirota equation with 4 × 4 matrix Lax pairs on the half-line.

• Show that the solution of the three-coupled Hirota equation can be represented in terms of the solution of a 4 × 4 matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem.

• The spectral functions are not independent, but related by a compatibility condition, the so-called global relation.
