The effect of two commercial software programs on indices of career development

Ninth- and tenth-grade students were randomly assigned to one of six intervention permutations in a three microcomputer treatments. (Career Directions vs. Career Exploration vs. high-demand control) by two levels of counselor involvement (counselor-assisted vs. stand-alone) by three repeated measures (pre, post, follow-up) design. A battery of eight assessment devices was selected. Multivariate analysis of variance did not support the efficacy of any active intervention.
