Integrating legal support systems through document models

摘要

The need to integrate legal support systems, especially expert systems and retrieval systems, is described. Correspondences between the components of the various classes of system are noted, and some current difficulties with integrating the systems are described. Both the potential for and the benefits accruing from the use of a uniform graph-theoretic model as a basis for the systems are outlined. A detailed description of the use of this approach in the construction in the legal domain is given.
