Stabilization of Coupled Time-delay Neural Networks with Nodes of Different Dimensions

In reality, the neural networks (NNs) with different dimensions may be coupled as a complex network. This paper deals with the stabilization problem for an array of coupled NNs with time delays, in which nodes of the isolated NNs have different state dimensions from each other. Without assuming the boundedness or monotonicity of the activation functions and the symmetry or irreducibility of the coupling configuration matrices, several sufficient criteria are derived for ensuring the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point of such coupled NNs. The decentralized linear controllers are employed to stabilize the system. By constructing suitable Lyapunov functional, the criteria are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities and can be easily verified by using MATLAB LMI Toolbox. Two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results.
