New set of multi-channel orthogonal moments for color image representation and recognition

• A new color image descriptor, namely multi-channel orthogonal radial substituted Chebyshev moments (MORSCMs), is introduced.

• A new method for highly accurate, fast and stable computation of MORSCMs is proposed.

• Rotation, Scaling and Translation invariants of the MORSCMs are derived.

• The proposed moments archives high recognition rates in presence of geometric and noise attacks.

• Comparison with existing methods clearly show the superiority of the new MORSCMs.
