An introduction to optical character reader considerations

摘要

A general description of an optical character recognition system is given. Major problems encountered by each of the system units are described, and some common solutions are given. No new work is described or proposed.This paper presents a general review of character recognition techniques and problems for people not intimately acquainted with this field. It will give perspective to more detailed papers on character recognition, as well as to the more general field of pattern recognition.
