The modified operator strongly implicit scheme, MOSI, as a fast elliptic solver

摘要

A new fast elliptic solver is introduced that is suited for systems of finite difference equations associated with five point molecules. This modified operator strongly implicit scheme, MOSI, is a further development of the modified strongly implicit scheme, MSI, which is an approximate LU decomposition sparse matrix solver. Comparisons are made between MOSI and some other commonly used equation solvers, which indicate that it is faster than these solvers, including the MSI scheme.
