An application of cellular automata to model a lipid membrane

摘要

A cellular automaton formalism based on a hexagonal lattice is used to describe some membrane structural changes, namely the process of pore formation in the presence or absence of molecules modifying the lipid membrane. The relation between the number of intruder molecules in the lipid membrane the process of pore formation relevant to membrane permeability is studied. The methods used are found to be convinient for modeling intermolecular reactions their influence on membrane characteristics.
