The conditioning of some projection methods for Fredholm and singular integral equations

We consider a general scheme for bounding the condition number of matrices arising from projection methods for solving linear operator equations. Applications are given for some Galerkin and collocation methods for Fredholm and Cauchy singular integral equations.
