A unified presentation of certain operational formulas for the Jacobi and related polynomials

The authors aim at presenting a systematic (and historic) account of the various known (or seemingly new) operational representations for the classical Jacobi and related polynomials. Some natural unifications (and generalizations) and several interesting consequences of these operational formulas are also considered.
