Finite element preconditioning for spectral multigrid methods

摘要

The good performance of finite element preconditioning for the algebraic spectral systems is demonstrated. Different types of multigrid strategies are compared. The most efficient strategy consists of a pure Richardson relaxation preconditioned by one V-cycle of a finite element multigrid method. The good smoothing properties of line relaxation become obvious. The computational work for the various methods is estimated.
