摘要

This paper develops a biomathematical model for circulating arterial insulin and C-peptide plasma concentrations under steady-state conditions so that practitioners can assess hepatic extraction of insulin from simultaneous measurements of circulating insulin and C-peptide by testing small sample mean correlation coefficients. A small data set from five animals demonstrates how clinical methods can be used to measure an exact quantity of hepatic extraction of insulin for diabetic patients. This paper presents an APL computer programs to calculate the critical values of the null distributions of the average sample correlation coefficient (r̄).
