Constructions of C∞-class functions having specified asymptotic properties

The behavior of a system is deeply related to asymptotic properties of functions describing the system. On the other hand, asymptotic properties of functions involves subtle points from the mathematical point of view. In this note, two cases which often appear in problems of applied mathematics are considered and two functions having interesting asymptotic properties are constructed.
