The Burridge-Knopoff model

J. M. Carlson, J. S. Langer, and B. E. Shaw at the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Santa Barbara, California, have discussed the Burridge-Knopoff model for earthquake faults, and this paper considers an analytic solution that does not require linearization or perturbation.
