Derivation of conservation relationships for metabolic networks using MAPLE

In this paper, derivation of conservation relationships for metabolic networks has been discussed. Using computer algebra technique, all conservation relationships for the closed three enzyme system of creatine kinase–hexokinase–glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase are derived:Creatinephosphate+ADP⇔creatinekinasecreatine+ATPATP+D-Glucose⇔hexokinaseD-Glucose6-phosphate+ADPD-Glucose6-phosphate+NADP+⇔G6P-DHD-Gluconate6-phosphate+NADPHThis method is also effective for more complex enzymatic systems such as branched or cyclic pathways.
