A study on compacton-like solutions for the modified KdV and fifth order KdV-like equations

In this work we study compacton-like solutions for the modified KdV and fifth order KdV-like equations. We present compacton-like solutions of the integrable nonlinear equations. Although the behavior of the obtained solution is reminiscent of the solitons, yet its second derivative is discontinuous at the boundaries, a feature characterizing the compactons.
