Distinct variants of the KdV equation with compact and noncompact structures

摘要

In this paper we examine three distinct variants of the generalized KdV equation. Both the compact and the noncompact structures are treated for these variants. We also emphasize the different physical structures of the two classes: the focusing branch and the defocusing branch.
