摘要

An infinitely wide lubricated slider bearing consisting of connected surfaces with Power-law fluid as lubricant is analyzed in the present study. Under the assumptions of the order of magnitudes of the variables, it is seen that only viscous and non-Newtonian terms have effects, whereas inertia terms are negligible. Choosing non-Newtonian effects to be smaller than the viscous effects, numerical solutions are constructed. To illustrate the mathematical model, the set of equations is used calculate the pressure for two special forms of the slider bearings, inclined and parabolic slider bearings. In these two cases, the variation of pressure, for a range of fluid and bearing parameters is presented. In order to obtain pressure distribution for an inclined and a parabolic slider bearing, with respect to the simultaneous changes of the inlet–outlet film height ration and of the Power-law index of lubricants are also analyzed. The results are presented both numerically and graphically. The results reveal that in the cases of an inclined and parabolic slider bearings the inlet–outlet film height ration for pressure distribution depends on the Power-law index of lubricants.
