A note on fifth-order iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations

In Noor and Noor (2006) [M.A. Noor, K.I. Noor, Fifth-order iterative methods for solving nonlinear equations, Appl. Math. Comput., in press, doi:10.1016/j.amc.2006.10.007], a new two-step iterative method with fifth-order for solving nonlinear equations has been proposed. In this note, we show that the iterative method given by the authors has third-order convergence, not the fifth-order one as claimed in their work.
