A note on “New family of iterative methods for nonlinear equations”

In [M.A. Noor, New family of iterative methods for nonlinear equations, Appl. Math. Comput., in press], a new two-step iterative method for solving nonlinear equations has been proposed. In this note, we show that the iterative method given by the authors has second-order of convergence with the efficiency index 1.1487 which is too less as compared with the classical Newton’s method.
