• In 2007, Yan-Quan Feng et al. introduced the first infinite families of tetravalent half-arc-transitive metacirculants of order 2-powers. This paper completes the classification of tetravalent half-arc-transitive metacirculants of order 2-powers.

• This paper is a new contribution to the classification of tetravalent half-arc-transitive metaciruclants by orders of graphs.

• Together with a result of Cai Heng Li and Hyo Seob Sim, our work implies that all tetravalent half-arc-transitive metacirculants of prime-power orders are known.
