A note on the transformation of boundary value problems to initial value problems: The iterative transformation method

作者:

Highlights:

• We review the non-iterative method for transforming Blasius boundary value problem into initial value problem using a one-parameter scaling transformation.

• We discuss in detail the iterative transformation method in solving the Falkner-Skan boundary value problem via a two parameter scaling transformation.

• Since one of the two parameters has a value of unity, we show that a simple iterative procedure not requiring an extended group can be employed to solve the Falkner Skan problem, as well as any such problems for which the iterative transformation problem can be used.
