On thermoelastic analysis of two collinear cracks subject to combined quadratic thermo-mechanical load

• A cracked orthotropic solid under symmetric heat flow and symmetric mechanical loading is studied.

• The modified partially impermeable crack model is employed to simulate thermal load transfer.

• With application of Fourier transform technique and superposition theory, the related physical quantities and fracture parameters are obtained in explicit forms.

• It reveals that for the problem of combined thermal and mechanical loads the fracture parameter would be physically significant unless certain conditions are met.
