• A class of switched linear systems with the bumpless transfer based event-triggered control is considered.

• We propose an event-triggered bumpless transfer performance, which can reduce the control bumps caused by both switches and triggers.

• The bumpless transfer based event-triggered strategy is presented for better bumpless transfer performance, which can avoid Zeno behavior.

• By the multiple Lyapunov functions method, the co-design of a state-dependent switching law, the event-triggered controller and the bumpless transfer based event-triggered scheme has been studied.
