Collocation and full multigrid methods

摘要

We examine the full multigrid method applied to problems discretized by the collocation method. We investigate the computational effort required to get a full multigrid approximation which approaches the discrete solution up to the accuracy of the discretization error. Depending on the convergence property of the collocation method, different asymptotic relations between the number of multigrid iteration steps and the number of grid points are deduced.
