A general model of distribution of objects in information retrieval systems

In this paper a general model of information structure is described. In this model the concept of distribution is introduced and different kinds of distribution of a set of objects are considered. It is shown that well-known methods of information retrieval are special cases of a general model. In conclusion a modification of the canonical structure method is given.
