摘要

There have been several recent proposals to improve the manner in which computer technology is made available to managers and other end users. These proposals, however, do not completely consider the nature of management technology nor do they fully recognize the role of technology in the decision-making process. This article addresses such issues and presents an organizational strategy for effectively delivering the required technology to management. First, the article identifies the nature of the technology. Next, it examines the relationship between the technology and information resource management. Then, the article studies traditional and proposed information system approaches to manage this relationship. Finally, the article identifies some short-comings of these approaches, and it presents an alternative strategy for providing managers and other end users with effective computer support.
