Computers and the social psychology of work

摘要

The microelectronics revolution has resulted in profound alterations of social-psychological aspects of the work environment. In general, computers have amplified the effects of the social forces which exist in organizations. This paper examines the content of investigations on the social psychology of computers in the workplace and suggests some uses of the computer in generating further research. Emphasis is placed on the computer and social control in organizations, the social psychology of the introduction of computer technologies, psychological effects of telecommuting, and computers and decision making in organizations.
