摘要

The future of educational technology rests on the ability of educators to interpret and implement sound educational theory into creative and innovative uses of educational technology. This article will present a perspective of the current state of technology-assisted instruction integrating computer language, artificial intelligence, and a review of cognitive science applied to instruction. Historically, as new technologies are introduced, educators have debated their relevance to instructional methodology. They have asked this two part question: “Does technology improve learning?”, and if so, “By how much?”. The purpose of this article is not an answer to the question, but to look briefly at “what is.” The complexity of the paradigm is enormous, and the solutions at best confusing.
