摘要

A discussion of the computer as an artist's tool in the domain of choreography is presented. It is shown why and how computers can both expand creativity and illuminate the process of dance composition. The actual working procedures of experienced dance artists need to be taken into account in planning and designing computer programs to assist dance composition. It is demonstrated that a parametrical view of dance movement, based upon Laban concepts, provides an excellent theoretical foundation for the use of the computer as a problem-solving environment for the dance-making process.
