Negotiation in collaborative activity: a discourse analysis

A model of communication using the constructs of Shared-Plans and negotiation is applied to a naturally occurring conversation between a travel agent and traveller. The negotiation cycles that arise in the conversation are presented to illustrate the necessity of negotiation in collaborative undertakings.
