摘要

The enormous gap between business rules and their actual implementation in business software has long been identified as a major obstacle for having easily maintainable and adaptable E-Commerce systems. We address this problem with our OntoAgent framework, which allows the declarative specification of agent systems. In OntoAgent, business rules can be specified in a declarative way using emerging standards from the area of the Semantic Web. Our framework builds and runs the agent environment based on the specification provided by the developer. We also enable a migration path by allowing the integration of legacy data and existing technology such as Web Services. This is achieved via semantically tagging existing data and Web Service parameters and results in order to seamlessly integrate those into the agent fact base.
