• Under certain conditions, a sufficiently high private market of the platform-scheme retailer could promote the horizontal cooperation.

• Under other conditions, a sufficiently small size of the private market of the platform-scheme retailer can also promote horizontal cooperation.

• The value of horizontal cooperation on improving the performance of the entire supply chain could be enhanced under a more fierce competition market.
